Advancing 3D Printing Concrete
The potential of three-dimensional (3D) printing technology in the fabrication of concrete composites is becoming increasingly evident. With the capacity to fully automate the construction sector, this technology holds great potential. This review discusses the comprehensive advancements in material compositions, printing technologies, and performance characteristics of 3D-printed concrete (3DPC).
First, it focuses on the recent fabrication techniques used for 3DPC. Secondly, it focuses on printable material development and optimization strategies. Then, the paper investigates the latest development in novel material science for compositions, introducing their properties and different ways they affect the 3DPC performance. Finally, this study investigates the fresh state and hardened state mechanical and durability properties of 3DPC, and different tests conducted by various research groups.
The objective of this work is to deepen the understanding of how 3D printing technology is converging with innovative material compositions, providing references for optimizing the performance of material compositions as well as to anticipate future trends and applications.
